Glider Stewards and Maintenance Issues

Glider Stewards
The glider stewards are club members who have volunteered to act in special capacity for the club. Each USA gliderport base has a glider steward. In an effort to coordinate local base activities and actions with the rest of the club, the stewards have elected to take on additional responsibilities. These responsibilities include:

• Liason between local gliderport membership and the board of directors.
• Coordinate glider maintenance issues.
• Point of contact for local gliderport issues.
• Coordinate glider movement into and out of the local gliderport site.
• Acquainting members unfamiliar with the local gliderport with site operations. Note: This does not preclude the requirement for a site checkout from a club instructor.

Anytime you have a question, concern or an idea of how to make things go smoother and safer at your local gliderport base, contact the glider steward acting at the local.

Maintenance Issues

Please familiarize yourself with the club maintenance communication policies. See this document for details.

Look for a zippered pouch that contains the Flight Manual, Weight and Balance information, the Maintenance Items Log as well as the Flight Log. The Maintenance Items Log has the contact information for the glider stewards at each airport the club uses. Also, please continue to fill out the log accurately for each flight. Thanks! If you find something out of the ordinary with a glider either before, during, or after a flight, you must contact the following individuals. Please contact the local glider steward as well.
